Syzygy and Zoodisc: Your 2026 D-I College Champions

What a weekend.

Huge congratulations to Carleton Syzygy and Massachusetts Zoodisc on becoming the 2026 Division I College Champions. Two programs, two unforgettable runs, and two teams that showed what hard work, belief, and championship drive can do.

For Carleton Syzygy, this was a storybook finish. After losing on universe point in last year’s final, Syzygy came back undefeated and claimed their second-ever national title — their first since 2000.

Their final against UBC Thunderbirds was a rematch for the ages. UBC came out strong, but Carleton stayed composed, took half 8–7, and kept fighting through every swing of momentum. The championship ended with Chloe Hakimi finding Chagall Gelfand for the winning score — the perfect close to an undefeated season.

A special shoutout to our newly sponsored athlete, Chagall Gelfand, who helped lead her team through the highs, lows, and adversity of a championship season, including battling through a torn hamstring. A true warrior, teammate, and example of what it takes to go all the way.

We also want to recognize UBC Thunderbirds on their silver medal finish. They pushed hard, battled with heart, and gave everything they had in a tight final against an incredible team.

On the men’s side, Massachusetts Zoodisc made history. Down 3–1 early and trailing 8–7 at half, Zoodisc refused to fold. They flipped the game in the second half with relentless defensive pressure and a three-break run that gave them control for good.

Sophomore Mason Stone was electric, helping power Zoodisc with two goals, five assists, and just one turnover. Forty years after their first title in 1986, Massachusetts brought it home again — their second national championship in program history.

To Syzygy and Zoodisc: massive congratulations. You earned every point, every cheer, and every bit of this moment.
